What are healing-centered learning environments?

As we all know, there is still a great need to create effective, equitable learning environments, and Fair Schools aims to support schools in realizing that vision.

One of the most impactful things I did as a principal was establish systems based on restorative justice. By the end of my tenure, we had 0 suspensions and had adopted several strategies to ensure all students were included and valued in their classes. By creating a system rooted in restorative justice, we were able to provide healing to our school community. Healing-centered learning environments include asset-based approaches to addressing the social and emotional needs of a school community. They are key in school organizational change.

Fair Schools wants to support all schools to create these learning environments. Check out this 1-minute video for some high-level tips. If you want to learn more, please contact us!
